Duvets from Ringsted Dun and Temprakon
Good sleep is about more than just your bed. Your duvet plays a crucial role in the quality of your sleep, and choosing the right duvet for the right season makes a huge difference in how well you rest. Most people are familiar with waking up in the morning with half of their body outside the duvet because it simply got too warm during the night. Likewise, many have experienced waking up shivering and having to grab a sweater from the closet because the duvet wasn’t warm enough. The temperature under the duvet makes a significant difference in your sleep quality, and it’s clear that a duvet that is too warm or too cold will result in restless nights and poorer sleep.
Your duvet matters, and at Better Nights, you will always find a wide selection of high-quality natural-filled duvets. The choice is yours, but at Better Nights, we guarantee top-tier quality. All our duvets are produced in Denmark under healthy working conditions and strict quality control.
The duvets in our collection are filled with duck down, goose down, and muskox down. We value quality—so you don’t have to worry about our duvets clumping together after washing. Our high-quality duvets meet some of the finest certifications in Europe, ensuring allergy-friendly duvets produced under sustainable and environmentally friendly conditions. You can read more about this in the ‘Certifications’ section further down in the product description.
Filling in Better Nights Duvets
When purchasing a new duvet, there are several factors to consider. The two most essential aspects are the filling and the size of the duvet—both of which influence the price and your overall sleep experience.
The most popular filling types include microfiber, goose down, muskox down, and duck down. The latter two are quite similar, but muskox down is slightly larger, which is why we have chosen this filling over duck down. Microfiber is a synthetic material that mimics natural filling but does not match its quality—this is why we at Better Nights have opted out of using microfiber. Instead, we use only the highest quality down filling in our duvets, and since we are an online-based company, we can offer premium-quality duvets at a favorable price. We know this benefits both you and us.
As mentioned, our selection includes both goose down and muskox down duvets. The percentage of down varies from 80% to 100%—if you find a duvet with 90% down, the remaining 10% consists of regular feathers. Most people prefer a natural-filled duvet, but whether you choose one with 80%, 90%, or 100% down depends on your budget. At Better Nights, we offer duvets to suit all preferences.
The second factor to consider is the size of the duvet, which also varies. At Better Nights, you will find single duvets, double duvets, and extra-long duvets. The latter is recommended for anyone taller than 180 cm, as shorter duvets may leave your feet exposed during the night, increasing the risk of colds and other illnesses. Whether to choose a single or double duvet depends on your personal needs and lifestyle. Many couples prefer a double duvet, while a single duvet is often sufficient for those who sleep alone. If you want a duvet that fully envelops you while covering your feet, we recommend choosing one that is at least 30 cm longer than your height and at least 30 cm wider than your chest measurement.
Certifications
When assessing the quality of duvets, several certifications help you determine their standard. At Better Nights, our duvets meet the strictest requirements in Europe, ensuring exceptional quality.
Oeko-Tex certification applies to the fabric of the duvet, guaranteeing that the textiles are produced in a healthy environment and free from harmful chemicals. Since the fabric is the part that comes into contact with your skin, it is essential that it meets the Oeko-Tex 100 standard.
Downafresh certification ensures that the duvet’s filling has been processed correctly, adhering to the highest standards. A duvet labeled with Downafresh does not contain microorganisms or viruses, making our duvets highly allergy-friendly and contributing to a healthy sleep environment. Downafresh is your assurance that the filling is of premium quality.
The final certification, Nomite, guarantees that house dust mites cannot penetrate the duvet, ensuring a hygienic and allergy-friendly sleeping experience.

Choosing the Right Size
When selecting the size of your new duvet, we recommend choosing a long duvet (220 cm) if you are taller than 180 cm. A standard-length duvet (200 cm) may not fully cover your feet, which could result in discomfort. Generally, we suggest selecting a duvet at least 15–20 cm longer than your height to ensure full coverage.
You should also decide whether you prefer a single duvet or a double duvet. This choice depends on your personal preferences and sleeping habits. A single duvet is often sufficient for solo sleepers, while a double duvet is ideal for those who like extra space or share their bed with a partner.

Svinedrengen, Double Duvet 200x220 from Ringsted Dun
The Svinedrengen duvets are filled with airy muskox down, known for its eiderdown-like properties. This unique structure allows the down to interlock and remain evenly distributed throughout the duvet. Additionally, the duvet features a finely woven baffle-box construction, ensuring even distribution of high-quality down to the edges. The outer fabric is soft and luxurious cotton satin, making the duvet exceptionally comfortable.
Svinedrengen, like the Klodshans duvet, has a fill power of 11, making it well-suited for the Danish climate. As with all Ringsted Dun duvets in our collection, Svinedrengen is Oeko-Tex certified, ensuring the fabric is produced in a healthy environment and free from residual chemicals—an important factor since this is the surface you sleep under. At Better Nights, we only accept duvets that meet the Oeko-Tex standard.
The double duvet size (200x220 cm) is perfect for couples and those who enjoy wrapping themselves in extra comfort.

Like all Ringsted Dun duvets in our collection, Snedronningen is designed to prevent dust mites and bacteria from settling in the fabric. This is guaranteed by the NOMITE certification, ensuring your duvet remains fresh, clean, and hygienic for years.
Snedronningen is available in the 200x240 cm size, the largest duvet we offer. It provides full bed coverage, allowing you to relax and be embraced by one of the best duvets on the market for its price.
Natural Down or Synthetic Fibers?
Your budget plays a key role in determining which type of duvet to choose. If you are looking for an affordable option, fiber duvets can be a great alternative, and it’s worth exploring which of these meet your requirements in terms of size and warmth. However, if you prefer a natural-filled duvet and have a slightly higher budget, goose down is the absolute best quality filling. Due to the larger size of geese and their down clusters, goose down is far superior to duck down, which consists of smaller clusters. This means that a duvet filled with duck down requires a higher weight to provide the same level of warmth.
The ability of a duvet to retain heat is measured by its "fill power." This is a crucial factor to consider when choosing a new duvet. A duvet can have a high fill power with a low weight, which simply indicates that the filling is of superior quality. This is often the case with pure goose down duvets, where the weight is low, but the fill power is high. In Danish homes, a fill power of 10-11 is recommended, as it provides sufficient warmth in winter while remaining breathable in summer.
The Ratio of Down to Feathers
An important factor influencing the price of a duvet is the ratio of down to feathers. Down is the finest and most expensive type of filling, while feathers are significantly cheaper but offer less comfort. Synthetic fiber, such as polyester, is the most budget-friendly option, though it does impact the overall quality of the duvet. Your personal preferences and budget will determine what’s right for you. Naturally, a duvet made of 100% goose down will be more expensive than one with 70% goose down and 30% small feathers. By considering these factors when selecting a duvet, you’ll be well-equipped to make the right choice.
